VCAABA was honored to present in cooperation with the CPA Law Society of Ventura County, NFL Agent Don Yee of Yee & Dubin Sports, LLC. Mr. Yee spoke at a luncheon at the Pierpont Inn in Ventura on September 30, 2005. Mr. Yee spoke to the members about his background, career, negotiating skills, financial issues related to sports law, his use of CPS's and financial experts for his clients. Mr. Yee also fielded questions from the audience. Mr. Yee is a graduate of UCLA and the University of Virginia School of Law. He is best known for his representation of New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady. After months of negotiating, the Patriots and brady recently agreed to a six-year contract reportedly worth $60 million that makes the two-time Super Bowl MVP one of the highest-paid players in the NFL. Mr. Yee has represented several dozen other NFL players, coaches, sports broadcasters, a wide array of sports and entertainment personalities, as well as counseled a diverse group of owneers, leagues, and sports business companies.
Mr. Yee is a frequest speaker on sports-related issues, and is an Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Southern California Law School. He is a Visiting Professor of Law at his alma mater, the University of Virginia School of Law. He also has served on the boards of numerous sports industry organizations.
